How to use Cleats?

Clip in pedals are built up of two central parts: the pedal, which attaches to your bike like a normal flat pedal; and the bike cleats, which connect to the sole of your cycling shoe. A spring device on the pedal enables you to clip the bike cleats on your shoes in and out of the pedals. Bike shoe cleats are bolted to the sole of a road shoe. You can buy bike shoe cleats from Shimano, Mavic, Sidi, Campagnolo, Crankbrothers.
A good bike shop can help you fix the cleats to your shoes. If you do it yourself, start by placing the cleat beneath the ball of your foot, and make sure it’s on right. After you have both cleats on, hop on your bike and lean next to a wall or a doorway where you can’t fall over, and pedal back for a few minutes. At this time, you can set the fore of the cleats and even your seat height to get comfort. A piece of paper can support you rotate in the angle of your cleats correctly.
If you need to adjust the angle and if your feet directly point inwards or outwards and you can feel some uneasiness then sit on the corner of a table with your legs hanging off the side, your shoes holding on a square piece of paper, with the edge perpendicular to the table. Drag around your shoes, then set the cleats on the edges so they’re yet square to the table edge. The angle within the centerline of your shoes and the side of the paper is your cleat angle.
